About This Lesson

This unit plan explores the origins of the surrealist art movement through drawings, paintings, and sculptures.  Students will learn about the founders in the surrealist movements such as Andre Breton and his automatic drawings. They will then explore dreamscapes and other surrealist paintings and finally learn about sculpture created in the surrealist art movement.
