About This Lesson

This lesson explores the essential question: What is a refugee? It does so by starting with the  particular case of the Tibetan people, but then expands to include an investigation of the condition of refugees worldwide. The lesson includes various handouts include Poems of Exile and a list of Refugee Internet Resources, information about China and Tibet and a write-up about the Dalai Lama.  A full curriculum for the film The Cup, about two refugee boys who arrive at a monastery desperate to find a way to watch the World Cup is available through Journeys In Film on our website.
