      About This Lesson

      Telling My Tale: Understanding Creative Non-Fiction Unit is a collection of 18 lessons - each lesson plan is designed to be used as a presentation - that teach students to understand the concept of creative non-fiction. The nonfiction stories are paired so the students can detect and write about common themes. Central ideas and themes are a secondary focus, but they are used throughout the unit. The writing process is used to develop the use of TEAL so that students develop the ability to cite and use textual evidence.
