About This Lesson

In this Unit plan the students will learn about the United States Constitution and the foundations of the American Government. The unit will be divided into the three branches of government, including the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches. The students will understand the basic requirements and responsibilities of each branch of government. Additionally, the students will learn about the concept of checks and balances and separation of powers as it relates to the Constitution and the three branches of government.
