About This Lesson

A Time for Justice is a time for change in America. How has civil rights changed since 1955. In honor of the movie "Selma" study the effects of the Civil Rights Movement on America: THEN and NOW.
Introduce Trayvon Martin as the new Emmitt Till. Discuss the poverty rates by race and gender. Has anything changed? What other ethnicities and minority groups have suffered the hands of discrimination?
