About This Lesson
This is a learning unit for a seventh-grade social studies class. This is the time when students are beginning to learn a lot about ancient civilizations, so I decided to create a two-week unit in which the topic of instruction are ancient mesoamerican civilizations. There are three main objects for the unit in regard to what students need to know in order to demonstrate mastery. The format for each of the lessons of this unit will differ from day to day. After they have finished a traditional assessment and demonstrated an understanding of the three topics I mentioned above, the final project will be an artistic creation of a physical replica of an ancient artifact.
