The Watsons Go to Birmingham--1963: reading tasks

Students will read the novel, The Watson Go to Birmingham--1963. Additionally, they will view a copy of Dudley Randall's Ballad of Birmingham, then listen to an audio of the poem sung by Tennessee State Choir.
During the course of reading the novel, students will anotate parts certain chapters for the figurative language used to describe the characters and the events in the story.
