Death is not a topic that is often discussed openly. As a result, when faced with a child who has recently experienced the death of a close family member or friend, even caring and compassionate school professionals sometimes make well-intentioned comments that may not be the best thing to say. This module offers concrete advice on “what not to say” to children and adults who are recently bereaved. With this information in mind, you can feel more confident that your comments are most likely to be well received and helpful.
