Kathleen L. Stone ... wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and recently author! Born and raised in Washington State, Kathleen and her husband live in the Olympia area. She was one of the first thirty primary grade level teachers in the state to be awarded the prestigious Gates' Foundation Technology Grant. In 2010 she earned her National Board certification. She currently teaches second grade with North Thurston Public Schools and was the 2014 Teacher of the Year for her school.
Kathleen is also a Juvenile Firesetter Interventionist with West Thurston Regional Fire, working with children and their families that have been involved in fire setting situations. She has received numerous awards from the department for her "exemplary service as a volunteer and unwavering dedication."
