I've been a high school social studies teacher in East Orange since 2007. I teach U.S. History and American Government and Politics at East Orange Campus High School. I've also taught World History and Financial Literacy.
I'm a big fan of civics education, and I publish a website devoted to civics ed. On that site, I share methods and resources, talk about education policy, and spotlight civic educators from around the state. My goal is to help promote better civic education here in New Jersey and around the country.
I'm also an active union member. I serve in leadership positions in my local, county, and state associations. The connections I've made through the NJEA have helped support my work with civics ed, and I hope that I will be able to network through the NEA to do the same thing nationally.
