National Council for the Social Studies

National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) is the nation’s leading association of social studies educators. All social studies educators are welcome to become members. NCSS publishes the widely used journals, Social Education and Social Studies and the Young Learner, and is also the publisher of the National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies and the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Enhancing State Social Studies Standards, which was prepared in cooperation with 14 other professional associations in social studies disciplines. NCSS advocates nationwide for the future of social studies as a core discipline in schools.
