AFT St. Louis

AFT St. Louis and the St. Louis public school district, with support from the AFT Innovation Fund, have improved professional development for pre-K teachers. A joint union-district working group, including pre-K teachers and classroom aides, planned teachers’ learning experiences. Barbara Bowman, an early childhood expert at the Erikson Institute in Chicago, advised the group. As part of their work together, the teachers videotaped their lessons and shared them with their colleagues.
