New York Public Library

The New York Public Library has been a leading provider of free education and information to New Yorkers of all ages for more than 100 years. With four research libraries and 88 neighborhood branches throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island, The New York Public Library offers free access to books, computers, classes, exhibitions, and programs to more than 18 million users a year, plus millions more online. The Library's collections hold more than 51 million items, from books, e-books, and DVDs to renowned research collections used by scholars from around the world. To help teachers and students across New York City and beyond, the Library invited a group of teachers and school librarians to develop curricular units and resource bundles on topics of interest to them. These resources incorporate the Library’s unique primary and secondary sources and are specifically designed to support instruction aligned with Common Core standards.
