The Zinn Education Project, coordinated by Rethinking Schools and Teaching for Change, promotes and supports the teaching of people’s history in classrooms across the U.S. and internationally. It accomplishes this goal through: (1) a website that offers free, downloadable lessons and articles organized by theme, time period, and grade level. The lessons emphasize the role of working people, women, people of color, and organized social movements in shaping history and the world today; (2) professional development including online classes with people's historians and teacher study groups; and (3) campaigns to teach Reconstruction, teach about climate justice, to teach for Black lives, and to defend the right of teachers to teach people's history.
