Erica S. Perl is an award-winning children's book author. Her middle grade novel, When Life Gives You O.J. was named a 2012 Syndey Taylor Notable Book for Older Readers and an Amazon Best Book of the Month and has been nominated for the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award and the Rhode Island Children's Choice Book Award. A crowd-pleasing presenter, Erica has shared her work with students nationwide as well as the National Council of Teachers of English, the National Head Start Association, Shenandoah University, The Reading Connection, Turning the Page and ReadBoston. Erica also works at First Book, the groundbreaking non-profit organization that has provided over 90 million brand new books to children in need.
