Executive Summary from ON24's AI:

The webinar explains why self-care declines as work and caregiving demands rise, and offers a practical framework to rebuild it. Drawing on research with thousands of parents and caregivers, the presenter introduces a “caregiver hierarchy of needs” showing how personal restoration activities (sleep, movement, time alone, relationships, hobbies) are often pushed aside even though they are essential for stress regulation and resilience.

She outlines common blockers—fatigue, time scarcity, guilt, and lack of support—and recommends actionable interventions: reset boundaries based on your triggers and context, use allies and group advocacy when you lack power, prepare “canned responses” to say no without emotional drain, track how much time you actually spend on well-being, and plan self-care around “energetic space” (time + energy + coverage). To make routines realistic in demanding seasons, she advises building Plan A/B/C options, proactively addressing barriers, time-boxing email to protect deep work, asking for targeted support at home or work, and treating warning signs of burnout seriously, including seeking medical support when needed.

I feel validated! I have…

I feel validated! I have come to realizations that I have overcommitted myself, feel like I work from a deficit (playing catch up), work FOMO (my job duties have changed - same workload less time), and I fear I "hoard knowledge" (I am the expert and have done all the research everyone should just listen to me! lol). Now i am going to give myself permission for self care
