About This Webinar

Join Richard Long from Learning First Alliance, Bushra Ul-Haq from WE Schools and Share My Lesson for an important professional learning session on mental well-being. Stress and poor mental health have become a universal observation when almost any educator is asked about the challenges of being in a school.

Now Available On Demand. Original Air Date: March 26, 2020.

As educators, the responsibility to create a safe and welcoming space for students falls on us. Teachers, counselors, administrators and parents are all on the front lines of needing to help students (and frequently their families) cope. Unfortunately, there are few resources to help, and fewer resources for the helper.

This session will focus on: How to manage school-based stress; How to identify what each individual can/shouldn’t do to manage their challenges; Learning about common mental health challenges and conditions; and When and how to reach out for help. Participants will also learn about WE Teachers’ mental well-being module designed to empower educators with the tools and resources to help students work though mental health challenges and improve their own mental well-being.

Available for one-hour of PD credit. A certificate of completion will be available for download at the end of your session that you can submit for your school's or district's approval.

I was able to get an overview of the WE organization and I look forward to using their applicable resources in my Pre-K classrooms and sharing it with my Pre-K teachers.

The presenters gave a plethora of useful information in the time allotted while addressing the questions people had in the chat. They were well prepared, organized, and left us with many great resources with the site.
