Speakers
Stacy Vocasek teaches English and creative writing at a performing arts high school in Connecticut. She lives in two worlds – that of an artist and an educator, and looks for ways to engage both of those worlds as much as possible. Most recently, Stacy has attended the Summer Teacher Institute at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, a National Endowment of the Humanities Landmarks Workshop titled Gullah Voices, and presented art-based reading and writing strategies at TEACH 2019.

Solid presentation with powerpoint!
A number of excellent examples to get students telling their stories including using songs, "Where I'm From" poem, and "Rambling Autobiography." I look forward to reviewing the presentation and taking time to consider how to integrate these engaging (on spot-on) activities into units and lessons on Names, My Family's Background/History, and Living Life.
