Freedom to teach means that I am supported as I expand my knowledge of effective teaching strategies, that I am allowed to incorporate games and neuroscience and new technologies to keep students committed to reaching their goals.

I work with adult learners seeking their GED so we are all problem-solving wizards and I believe in creating an environment that supports and challenges their thinking.

Freedom to teach is egalitarian.

It is knowing that knowledge is not an up and down mechanism it is equity and shared. The freedoms to share knowledge and critically question ghat knowledge is the essence of humanity.

Freedom to Teach, to me, means being able to adjust my lessons at a moments notice, based on the needs of my students at that very moment, without worrying that I am deviating from the posted objective for the day.

I don’t want to be concerned that an administrator will enter my room and see that the lesson and the objective don’t match. Let me do my job!! I’m a professional, I know what I need to do and what my students need!
