Children’s author Karen M. Greenwald finds interactive ways to connect history’s hidden heroes to the world of today's children. She is passion about shining a light where it has not been seen (enough). Ms. Greenwald offers educators and parents grade-flexible enrichment opportunities that range from discussion and writing prompts, international geography, civic engagement, and volunteering ideas, to interactive grassroots, art, physical education, and STEM activities.

Ms. Greenwald's Non-Fiction Picture Book, A VOTE FOR SUSANNA, THE FIRST WOMAN MAYOR is the first/only book about a woman who fought her town's bullies, became an interntional icon, and cemented the unique 1887 Kansas law permitting women to run and vote in municipal elections. Based in years of intricate research, including personal ephemera written by Mayor Salter, several women mayors across the United States are supporting this book. Kirkus Reviews called the book, "Factually written and accessibly told," Their verdict? "Get it." The National Women's History Museum held the book's launch. The NWHM BRAVE GIRLS Storytime (November 10th) will feature Ms. Greenwald and her book. Classrooms are welcome. Attendance requires registration:

A Phi Beta Kappa, Magna cum laude, Alpha Sigma Nu graduate of Georgetown University, Ms. Greenwald holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. Currently, she is a non-practicing member of the MD Bar and runs an internationally award-winning strategic branding boutique.
