Identity Safe Classrooms is a site whose purpose is to support educators to assure that all students feel a sense of belonging and achieve at the highest levels. Identity safe environments are places where students of all backgrounds are welcomed, supported, and academically successful and accepting of others. Cohnvargas Consulting has created this SML site to provide a range of audio-visual materials, podcasts, and lesson plans. Educators can use them to build empathy and learn about people from a range of cultures and backgrounds. Materials can help to create safe spaces, counter stereotypes and address racism, anti-Semitism, Islamaphobia, Homophobia, and other biases in schools.
