For educators seeking a new way to reach young people, especially those at-risk, In the Mix is a unique resource. In the Mix is the evergreen Emmy award-winning PBS series that addresses critical issues for diverse teens and young adults (13-21). Programs use a peer-to-peer approach in a hip, fast-moving format teens choose to watch. From alcohol to activism, school violence to careers, drugs to finding money for college, racism to relationships, the series tackles the topics teens care about in probing, thought-provoking investigative reports, and provides information they need to make positive life choices. In response to requests by educators, over 60 half-hour programs are also available on DVD, including performance rights. Most programs have companion discussion guides, and are closed captioned, some have Spanish subtitles. They are used extensively by teachers, counselors, afterschool programs, and others.
