About This Lesson
Students investigate how calcium carbonate responds to solutions with different pH values and use quantitative and qualitative evidence to analyze relationships between acidity and calcium-carbonate degradation. Eggshell serves as a readily available model for the calcium-carbonate structures produced by many marine organisms.
