About This Lesson
Loneliness and relationships are key themes in Of Mice and Men. The attached documents contain 1) several quotes from the story that have to do with loneliness and 2) graphic organizers for a lesson analyzing the quotes and the theme overall. Discuss as a class the various relationships in the book and their qualities. Finally, students get into groups and receive a quote to analyze. Each group presents and then after they make a final assessment about what message Steinbeck is sending.
