About This Lesson

Although they don’t feel any different because of Sarah’s disability, Alex and Sarah acknowledge that there does seem to be a stigma that makes it hard to find a relationship and once in one, friends seem reluctant or embarrassed to talk about it. See the pdf file for suitable lesson plans and activities. Aligned to Common Core State Standards: SL.7.1 , SL.8.1, SL.9-10.1

A thought-provoking clip which shows the challenges and expectations that can place pressure on disabled/gay people even from within their families. This is useful particularly when used with the relevant parts of the accompanying lesson resources.
