About This Lesson

  • Set up Playdough Numbers 5-10 in plastic sleeves at each table (see picture below).  Each table will also need 6 containers of Playdough.

  • Students will use the playdough to cover the numeral and to make small balls to build on the ten frame.  This will be another opportunity to help students understand the “rules” for ten frame building. (Fill the frame from left to right.  Fill the top row first.)

  • Students can stand up and “scoot” between the mats so that everyone at each table gets to “build” every number.  Another option is to have them pass the mats in one direction. Your choice!
