About This Lesson

This unit explores the differences between central ideas and themes. The unit includes poems, short stories, and a Joy Luck Club group project.The final project will be a Google Slides presentation that includes the central idea, theme(s), plot summary, and protagonist analysis. (Textual evidence is to be used to support all claims.) Further, the students will identify and give an example of a literary technique used by the author. Each slide will be supported by a graphic or graphics.
