About This Lesson

Earth Day Preschool Activities: In this lesson, the project-based learning (PBL) approach was used as the framework in creating a preschool lesson on recycling. Students will learn about trash, what it is, who makes it, where it goes, how it hurts the planet, and how recycling can help.

Following a circle-time introduction (see link at end) students will learn how to identify recyclable and non-recyclable items by searching for symbols and numbers and exploring various materials.  Students will compare quantities before and after recycling.  Students will then collaborate, design and construct a trash mosaic.
