The principal learning objectives are:

• Understand how tectonic plates determine the geological features on the Earth’s surface.

• Discover what hazards can be related to the tectonic plates.

• Conduct an experiment that emulates these hazards.

Standards

Analyze and interpret data from maps to describe patterns of Earth's features.
Recall relevant information from experiences or gather relevant information from print and digital sources; take notes and categorize information, and provide a list of sources.
Gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources, assess the credibility and accuracy of each source, and integrate the information while avoiding plagiarism.
