The transition from pre-k to kindergarten is a very critical time in child development, and there are many things that parents can do to get children ready to learn before they enter the classroom. Multiple studies find that parent-teacher communication provides parents with opportunities for preparing their kids for school. Parents can also talk to children about how they will get back and forth from school, what will happen when they arrive, and how long they will be there.
