About This Lesson

Introduction: Are there guns in your students’ homes? If so, are they all adequately stowed? Kids and teens alike both hurt themselves (accidentally and on purpose) with guns they found in their homes. The Brady Campaign wants to solve this problem. Educators should try to find out how exposed their students are to unlocked firearms. Every ask brings young people closer to those who can learn about their dangerous situation and help them.

Objective:

  • Know about the risk associated with having guns in the home.
  • Think critically about how gun safety practices save the lives of loved ones.
