About This Lesson

***Available at the Kids' Printouts website as .xls files cannot be uploaded here***

This is the spreadsheet version of the Image Representation activity in the bundle created for CS Education week, for the Hour of Code, but can be used for a computing activity throughout the year.

Students as young as Year 3 (7-year olds) can be given this to work on (and maybe younger!)

In this activity, students are introduced to how a computer stores an image. They are then asked to create three images using the number keys given. They need to use the 'Fill Color' tool in the home ribbon. Additional worksheets with grids are given for students to create their own images and keys for others to work out. (See unplugged version of this activity if you prefer.)
