About This Lesson

Many scholarship examinations contain an essay component, in which students must write 1-2 essays quickly. This section is usually the most challenging and stressful, and examiners often use it to choose the ideal candidate for schools. However, with the right strategies in mind, one can quickly master this component and receive a significant advantage over other students.

In scholarships, the two predominant writing formats are a creative piece, a fictional story designed to hook readers, and a persuasive one, a piece to convince readers to accept a particular idea or opinion that you’re putting forward. These essays can be written in 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the type of exam that you are undertaking.
