This lesson introduces students to inequalities. We begin by discussing what symbols mean and how to orient the symbols in relation to 2 quantities. It has students recognize that inequality statements can be read either right to left or in reverse. Lastly, it has students write inequality statements using words. The See It, Say It, Write It flow is meant to cement understanding in a concept which often presents difficulty. Students will be able to interpret inequalities as statements about the relative position of two numbers on a number line. CCSS: 6.NS.7 , 6.NS.7a
