About This Lesson

Use this lesson when teaching plastics, pollution, properties of matter, sorting and classification, oceans and waterways, or
human impacts on the environment. Students will investigate nurdles and compare them with sand, pebbles, sticks, and other materials. Through hands-on observation and sorting stations, students will learn what nurdles are, how they are used to make plastic products, and why spilled nurdles can become environmental pollution. This lesson pairs especially well with Storm Drains & Pollution.
