About This Lesson
Objective: Students practice small, genuine acts of kindness and inclusion, then reflect on what they noticed.
Grades: Designed for upper elementary; adaptable for other grade levels.
This activity can take place over one week or longer. Its purpose is to help students notice everyday opportunities to choose kindness and help others feel included. It is not a competition, and students do not need to get a bingo. Cards are personal and should not be displayed or compared.
Each student is given a bingo card and explained that every square describes an action of kindness they can try. Students are invited to choose actions that fit the situation and feel genuine to them. Once students mark a square, they are encouraged to remember to continue practicing it throughout the week and beyond. Students use a journal or the back of their bingo card to reflect on the activity throughout the week with questions such as: What action did I take, and what happened? How did I feel afterward? Is this something I already do regularly, or was it new for me? Did someone show kindness to me? How did that feel?
