About This Lesson

This lesson looks at the different ways that Supreme Court justices and scholars interpret the Constitution. Students will explore perspectives such as the living Constitution theory, originalism and literalism by viewing clips. Student will develop their own Constitutional philosophy by applying these interpretations to current topics. Teachers can access this free resource by signing up or logging into C-SPAN Classroom.
