About This Lesson

A letter most likely sent to teachers throughout Black Hawk County asks the recipient to conduct a survey of men in their school district on how they intend to vote on the suffrage referendum in the upcoming election on June 5th. The referendum did not pass. This particular letter went to Miss Loraney Smith in Jesup, Iowa (Black Hawk County) on March 21, 1916.
