About This Lesson

In this lesson plan, children become familiar with the concept that light travels and tends to maintain its direction of motion until it interacts with an object or material. Children explore with light waves to investigate how light absorbs, refracts, transmits, and reflects. Some materials absorb light waves better than others. Dark materials that don't transmit light are the best for absorbing the light energy.

Good Concept, but could be difficult to set up the activity so that the results are noticeable.
