About This Lesson

Resource: Tour the CSL St-Laurent

Media (15 mins)Take a 360-degree tour of a Trillium Class cargo ship with Francis Lavoie, the first officer of the CSL St-Laurent. Explore the ship’s cargo holds, navigation bridge, crew areas, and engine room, and get a glimpse of life at sea!

  • See the media: Ocean School makes media/activity combinations. Each piece of media is linked to an activity. You can access this 360º video by visiting the Ocean School Website or by visiting the direct link here. If you like this media, you can see all of the available resources in the Ocean School Resource Catalogue. Everything in Ocean School is provided free to the public.

Activity (1 hour): Design a better cargo ship - Students reflect on what a ship’s crew needs to be healthy and happy, and propose ways to change the design of a cargo ship to promote wellness among the crew.

  • Want another format? We offer a Google Slides version of the activity, a Microsoft Powerpoint version of the activity, and a PDF version of the activity on the Ocean School Website.
