About This Lesson
This guide is written to be used with Re-Imagining Migration's Moving Stories Storytelling App. The provides an engaging classroom experience that allows students to explore their personal stories as well as broader experiences of migration. Pre-set with customizable question sets for video and audio interviews, the app can be used academically in individual lessons or at the heart of a unit on storytelling. At the heart of the guide, students are encouraged to interview each other following a series of carefully developed questions designed to encourage learning, connection, and reflection about the experience of migration, through historical and current event lenses.
Outside of the traditional classroom space, the app can also be used to promote family engagement and build community inside and outside of schools, libraries, museums, and other cultural institutions.
