In 2005, Specialist Justin Cliburn deployed to Iraq with the Oklahoma Army National Guard. While serving in Baghdad, Justin formed an unlikely friendship with two Iraqi boys who lived nearby. At StoryCorps, Justin speaks with his wife, Deanne, about the lasting impression the boys left on his life.

Thank you for your comment Kobrien-yetto, have you taken a look at The Great Thanksgiving Listen Toolkit? The Toolkit (also available on SML) guides educators to use these animations as a starting point to teach students how to prepare, record, and archive an interview using the StoryCorps app. It also includes classroom activities, teacher tips and a student worksheet. I hope this is helpful!

While the video itself is good and there is value to using it in the classroom, there is no lesson attached.
