Will Lucy and Miss Dahlman be able to start a garden? Only if they can learn about plants, first! Follow them on their learning adventures! Created by a teacher, designed for elementary students, and fun for all ages.

Elementary School Lesson. This is a science lesson for kids about plant parts. The biology lesson includes instruction on roots, seeds, stems, leaves, and flowers. The lesson also makes a connection between plants and root vegetables we eat, such as beets and carrots. The video teaches about science safety equipment before a featured science experiment. The science safety equipment features goggles and lab coat for protection. Miss Dahlman also discusses obtaining parent permission before starting any science experiment. The science experiment for kids uses celery and food coloring to demonstrate the stem’s role. The experiment also mentions the importance of documenting your results. Photographic evidence is suggested. This is absolutely perfect as a first time plant lesson for kindergarten and first grade.
