About This Lesson

SeeSaw creates a way for students to show their work online, and teachers can evaluate how the student is doing and any extra support he/she may need. This free platform gives teachers the opportunity to check on student learning while they are working on assignments at home.

SeeSaw has a wonderful collection of family based activities. It has such rich speech language type activities that SLP service providers often do and ask families to do. It has a warm open format that makes it easily used by disabled teachers as well as their students. Additionally, it is bilingual!

The advertisement s "creates a way for students to show their work online, and teachers can evaluate how the student is doing and any extra support he/she may need." It is so much more! It has a wonderful collection of school and family based activities. I has such rich speech language type activities that SLP service providers often do and ask families to do. Furthermore, it allows for video and audio responses from both the teacher/ parent and the student. It has a warm inviting format that makes it easily used by disabled teachers as well as their students. It is bilingual! Sadly, the Federal Government will not allow us to use it! Our HQ level ET is trying to get it for us to use specifically as it works so well with special populations and families. I have an account on my home computer. I have spent the last month researching finding more active learning opportunities for SLP and special educators to use with our kids on the computer. This is the true answer! It had an incredible library of lessons activities! It allows the teacher to edit and modify the lessons in all and any manner they see fit. In addition, teachers can bring in other lessons they have created or make new creations using their tools. The kids have easy to use tools that allow gentle drag and drop, drawing, writing, highlighting and typing features in every activity. It allows audio, video, and icon responses! It has simple picture type responses. They have created amazing resources that families can use. The have scheduling and communication boards that are made to be used in the home. I wish that I had this as both a parent and a teacher of a child with ASD. It is just a wonderful time saver. If I was still at home with my child I would make my own parent account and use it as both to educate but also to help regulate the day under a new condition called social isolation. A parent friend with two children with multiple disabilities told me that this is what she is using also. It free so why not take a risk and use it with your family.
