About This Lesson

A one-page blank seating chart for a substitute folder. Fill in the class or period, room, teacher and date at the top. Then write one student name in each desk and cross out the desks nobody uses.

The grid has 30 desks in 5 rows of 6. Each desk has a row and seat code, such as 3-4, and row 1 is nearest the front of the room. Two lines below the grid say where the door is and where the sub plans are kept.

A four-item checklist at the bottom covers the page before it goes in the folder. One item is to keep medical, behavior and support notes off the chart.

The PDF is one US Letter page, portrait. It has no links and stays readable when printed in black and white.

Disclosure: SeatPlanMaker, the maker of an online classroom seating chart tool, created this resource.
