About This Lesson
Thanksgiving Feast combines math and literacy skills. Students are asked to complete the directions to their assignment in a Mad Lib letter format. Then, they use grocery adds to create a new meal for Thanksgiving. They add up the cost of 6 food items in order to calculate the cost of their meal. Finally, students are asked to write a letter back to the turkey, detailing the new Thanksgiving meal and the reason that people should eat it for their holiday.
