About This Lesson
For this activity, students work in pairs or groups of 3. Give each pair or group a big handful of Sweetheart candies or about 2 of those little boxes. Students practice graphing their Sweethearts by using a Tally Chart, a Pictograph, and finally, a Bar Graph. They love this! It's a great way to work some math in during a holiday, it's hands-on AND they get to eat them at the end!
This activity provides the students with tally practice using one of their favorite things candy. Very concrete activity.
