About This Lesson

These are common writing errors. Use these sheets to edit a student's paper by writing the rule number or letter in the margin. Instead of writing; "comma splice;" write the number. This way the student can see his or her most common errors and how to fix them. You need a follow-up assignment or paper revision for corrections. Aligned to Common Core State Standards: L.9-10.1, L.9-10.2, L.9-10.3
