About This Webinar

Reading Universe has created five new courses that, though designed specifically for paraprofessionals, will also be helpful for administrators, literacy coaches and teachers supported by paraprofessionals.

Paraprofessionals are often paired with the students who need intensive reading support, but are rarely given the same training that classroom teachers receive. Luckily, there’s a wealth of knowledge developed just for paraprofessionals — completely for FREE!

Reading Universe has partnered with reading expert Dr. Deborah Glaser to create the ParaReading collection: a set of five self-paced reading courses designed to build knowledge and provide teaching strategies for paraprofessionals, from Phoneme Awareness to Reading Comprehension.

In this webinar, Dr. Glaser will introduce paraprofessionals to foundational Science of Reading knowledge and explain how Reading Universe’s free ParaReading courses can inform classroom practice and improve students' reading abilities.

Develop your skills, enact what you're learning, and see what effective teaching looks like through ParaReading!

AFT is proud to have partnered with Reading Universe. Visit ReadingUniverse.org, a completely free website with ready-to-use teaching strategies, in-classroom videos, interviews with teachers and reading experts, and helpful answers to common questions about teaching reading and writing—all rooted in evidence-based reading instruction.
