Not In Our Town

Not In Our Town (NIOT) is the primary project of The Working Group, a non-profit media and community engagement organization based in Oakland, CA. NIOT is a movement to stop hate, address bullying, and build safe, inclusive communities for all. NIOT provides films, stories tools, and action steps—both online and on-the-ground—to help individuals and communities find new ways to create thriving, diverse environments. NIOT’s programs focus on communities, schools, and law enforcement. Over the past two decades, NIOT has held thousands of screenings, produced five acclaimed PBS films, and released nearly 100 short web videos, which have attracted over one million views. NIOT’s K-12 education initiative, Not In Our School, provides free tools including 70 short films, lesson plans and campaign guides to address bullying and intolerance, reaching over 250,000 students.
